I was a teacher under the relief educators scheme, where I helped with manpower in FMSS. My job mostly consisted of helping with lesson planning and teaching lessons to aid with the workload of the full-time art teacher. The classes I taught were lower secondary students aged 12-14. Occasionally, I was also deployed to watch over classes for other subjects of different levels (ages 12-17) that required a relief teacher if the teacher for that lesson is unavailable.
At LACA, I teach arts and crafts to 4-5-year-old kids. It opened my eyes to the creativity of children who have yet to learn the hard-set rules of the world. I learn to push them to the limits of their imagination while ensuring they are engaged with exciting crafts that they are happy to bring home.
